Step 4:

To build the side walls, you have to adjust the size of the component before locking them into a tight place. Before inserting the screws align the edges. The corners should be square and place the balusters in equally spaced manner.

Step 5:

The next step involves building the back wall of the baby cot. The back wall should build strong. You have to align the components and check whether the edges are flush before inserting the screws.

Step 6:

Now you may lock the four walls of the crib together. For this, you must drill pocket holes at the side of front and back panels. Then insert 1 ¼ inches, screw into the adjacent walls. The corners should be square, and the edges must be flush before you insert the screws.

Step 7:

The next step involves attaching the legs of the crib. You have to cut several pieces of 2x3 lumber. Drill holes through the legs and place them at the bottom component of the frame using 2-inch screws. To create the rigid structure, you must add waterproof glue to the joints.

Step 8:

Now you have to build the frame of the bed. You have to use 1x3 slats to build the frame and make sure the corners are in square shape. The next step includes attaching 1x1 cleats to the interior portion of the frame. These cleats should support the slats properly. You have to drill the pocket holes through the cleats and secure the frame using 1 ¼ inch screws.

Step 9:

The next step includes securing the 1x 3 slats to the cleats and make sure you place the slats in an equally spaced manner. Lock the cleats using 1 ¼ inch screws. Now you have to decide the height at which you want to keep the bed frame along with the side walls. Using a spirit level, you must check whether the bed frame is placed horizontally. Then you insert all the screws through the frame into the wall.

Step 10:

The last step involves the finishing touch of the baby crib. You have to fill the holes using wood filler and give some time to dry out. Afterward, using a sandpaper smooth the surface of the wood. Clean all the residues, and you must apply two coats of paint on the wooden pieces. This would enhance the look of the baby crib.
